Ellie Kemper has shown off her typing skills and her dance moves as Dunder Mifflin receptionist Erin Hannon on The Office. Now she's going to show the world her literary talents.
The 30-year-old actress has signed on to co-author a comedic novel with her sister, The Office staff writer Carrie Kemper, due out in spring 2012.
Their debut novel, tentatively titled Monday Sessions, will include misplaced diary entries and progress notes of the fictional Dr. Amy Rice, a single thirtysomething therapist who becomes oddly fascinated with her clients' lives.
"We are hoping that this is only the first in a series of Kemper family manuscripts," Ellie said. "We know that our two brothers are eager to get their own book, Ellie and Carrie: The Worst People in Our Family, off the ground as well."
"This is the first book we've ever written. And it'll be like the 10th book we've ever read," her sister, Carrie, said. "So we're very excited."
Ellie, who also writes for The Huffington Post, The Onion and McSweeney's, joined The Office last year.
