Roy Rogers' trusty horse, Trigger, will be auctioned among more than 300 lots from the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum, which closed last year. The auction will be hosted by Christie's in association with High Noon Western Americana on July 14-15. The horse was featured in Rogers' movies and television show in the 1950s. Following Trigger's death in 1965, Rogers decided to enlist the services of a taxidermist to mount the animal in a rearing position on two legs. It is expected to sell for $100,000-$200,000. In addition to the stuffed horse, the auction will offer suits by Nudie the Rodeo Tailor, saddles, personal photos, musical instruments, awards and the Nellybelle Jeep from Rogers' television show. Rogers is a two-time inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame -- as a member of the Sons of the Pioneers in 1980 and as a solo artist in 1988.
