BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Tina Fey's Emmy Award-winning sitcom 30 Rock will air a live episode this coming Oct. 14.
"Tina's up for it, coming from Saturday Night Live," said Angela Bromstad, NBC president of primetime entertainment, at the Television Critics Association tour. 30 Rock also airs in Canada on Citytv.
"We're doing as much as we can to garner attention for the show," Bromstad added. "And Lorne (Michaels, executive producer of 30 Rock) and Tina agreed to it."
In other NBC sitcom news, Rob Lowe will be joining Parks and Recreation full-time.
And Bromstad confirmed that at this point it definitely is not NBC's intention to end The Office after next season, when Steve Carell leaves.
"We could have ended ER when George Clooney left," Bromstad pointed out. "I would be very sad to end The Office. I couldn't go home to my 14-year-old son if The Office went off the air."
