BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - So what is it that familiarity breeds?
Friends creator David Crane now has created a funny new series called Episodes that stars former Friend Matt LeBlanc. It originates on Showtime in the United States and will air this fall across Canada on The Movie Network and Movie Central.
Crane was asked at the Television Critics Association tour if he had LeBlanc in mind for Episodes all along. But LeBlanc barked out an answer first.
"Schwimmer said, 'No'," LeBlanc said, prompting laughter.
LeBlanc, of course, was referring to his old Friends cast mate David Schwimmer.
Quickly, LeBlanc's Episodes co-stars chimed in with comments such as, "That's a shame, isn't it?", "How did he find out about that?" and "I've always wanted to meet him (Schwimmer)."
Episodes tells the story of a successful British TV series that is being re-made by an American network, with LeBlanc in the lead role.
