Is Larry King handing over the reins to Joy Behar?
The View panelist and HLN host is in talks to succeed King when he ends Larry King Live this fall, Deadline.com reports. Behar, 67, has guest-hosted for King before and is one of the "strongest internal candidates" to replace him, as her eponymous show on HLN (formerly known as CNN Headlline News and CNN2) has pulled in big ratings since its September 2009 debut, according to the site.
CNN had no comment on the report. An e-mail to Behar's rep was not immediately returned.
It is unclear how much say King, 76, has in naming his successor, but he lobbied for Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday's show after announcing his exit.
"I can't be objective because I don't know his feelings, his interest in politics, but Ryan Seacrest... he is curious, he is interesting, he is likable," King told guest Bill Maher. "If he has a great interest in politics, I would recommend him."
News of Behar's possible appointment comes two weeks after CNN denied reports that America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan was close to a four-year deal to replace King in the fall.
What do you think? Should Joy replace Larry?
