Sometimes when things become mini-cultural phenomenons in the United States, it takes the rest of the world a little longer to decide if they care.
And in the case of Jersey Shore, there are many Canadians who probably have heard of it, but don't really know or understand just what the heck it is.
Well, your chance to be right up to date with the U.S. on this one comes on Thursday night, with the debut of Jersey Shore's second season on MTV, on both sides of the border.
Jersey Shore has kind of replaced The Hills in the U.S. in terms of reality-series buzz. It follows the lives of eight housemates with names like Snooki and The Situation, and it has come under some fire for perpetuating negative Italian-American stereotypes.
The second season moves the group to Miami. Hey, speaking of stereotypes, don't most Italian-Americans from New Jersey wait until they retire to move to Florida?
