Bill Cosby proved he's not dead by scheduling a TV interview on Monday night to rebuke a series of malicious online rumours suggesting he had passed away.
The funnyman took to the internet this week to tell the world he is alive and well after the story of his alleged death spread across microblogging website Twitter.com.
Cosby was also a guest on Larry King Live and took the chance to condemn the online pranksters for deeply upsetting his family and friends.
He says, "I found out when my daughter called - my daughter called the house. Someone picked up. And she said, 'Is my father there?... Is he alright?'... She said... 'Dad, people are calling me. Are you all right?'... It had to hit her, if you hear about your mother, your father, someone in your family, a friend. And it is no longer fun...
"I had friends call me... an owner of a restaurant that my wife and I frequent... said his son called him crying, and then he started to cry, and then the staff started to cry. Now, I don't know, maybe psychiatrists will say I'm feeding this person's ego. But I just want to say to friends of that person, just tell them to stop, because it isn't funny."
The hoax is the latest in a long line of morbid death pranks, which have previously targeted stars including Zach Braff, Johnny Depp and Kanye West.
