"The Gulf is Back," hosted by David Hasselhoff, is a one-hour special that pays tribute to the people of the Gulf Coast affected by the oil spill. It aims to highlight the heroic efforts of the people in the Gulf to rebuild their lives after this environmental disaster.
The special features performances by Lonestar; Ricky Skaggs; "American Idol" contestants and finalists Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice and Ace Young and appearances by Kyle and Chris Massey, Drake Bell, Sophia Bush, Austin Nichols, B. B. King, Shannon Elizabeth and Dean Cain.
It also features real-life stories from the people affected by the disaster. "The Gulf is Back" airs Friday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
