Is Kelsey Grammer resurrecting Frasier Crane?
Contrary to a series of tweets on the actor's Twitter page that suggested a Frasier reunion and spin-off, Grammer's rep, Stan Rosenfield, tells TVGuide.com that no such project — or any project involving Dr. Frasier Crane, the famous small-screen psychiatrist — is in the works.
"That is not true at all. Nothing's happening. Frasier's done," Rosenfield said, adding that Grammer has a team tweeting for him. "That's what happens when you don't do your own tweets and things get misinterpreted and people who do your tweeting misinterpret something."
"Maybe a Frasier Reunion on like a new show seriously thinking about that !!!" read one tweet.
Another said: "We're thinking of bringing something back maybe a spin off with Frasier & Niles Kids and cameo's from Frasier and Cheers."
"Let's call it the very liberal use of the word 'thinking,'" Rosenfield said. "I'm also 'thinking' of inheriting a billion dollars tomorrow at noon. Neither is going to happen."
Grammer, 55, shot to fame as the pompous doc when he joined Cheers in 1984. When Cheers ended in 1993, the character was spun off into the widely successful Frasier, which ran for 11 seasons and netted Grammer four Emmy awards. His 20-year portrayal of Frasier Crane equals the mark set by James Arness, who played Marshal Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke from 1955-75.
Grammer has since starred in two short-lived sitcoms: Fox's Back to You, which lasted one season, and ABC's Hank, which was canceled in November after five episodes.
