If you're a fan of The Office, by now you probably have seen the hilarious "lip dub" performed by the staff of Dunder Mifflin to kick off the seventh season last week.
As the peppy 1967 hit Nobody But Me by the Human Beinz played, everyone sang and danced along. At one point Creed Bratton - the actor and the character share the same name - was seen fingering along on an electric guitar.
Gee, it really looked as if Creed could play, didn't it? Well, he can.
Creed Bratton, the real-life person, actually was a member of the 1960s band The Grass Roots.
"I was the lead guitarist," Bratton said. "Let's Live For Today, Midnight Confessions, that's me on those songs."
In fact, when the creators of The Office discovered many years ago that Bratton had been in the Grass Roots, it helped inform the TV character.
"They found out and were thinking, 'Well, obviously he has been on drugs and he's a bit addled,' " Bratton said. "So they just went from there."
The Office airs Thursdays on NBC and Global.
