LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Despite landing a ton of press, the series premiere of E!'s controversial new reality show "Bridalplasty" was left at the ratings altar Sunday.
"Bridalplasty" -- where brides-to-be compete for extreme plastic surgery procedures -- drew only 900,000 viewers at 9 p.m.
E!'s other Sunday night fare this year like "The Spin Crowd" (1.8 million) and "Holly's World" (2 million) averaged much higher season numbers. And "Bridalplasty" isn't even in the same universe as Sunday hits like "Kourtney & Khloe" (which averaged 3.2 million viewers during the summer).
On the other hand, nothing can stop "The Walking Dead" over at AMC. The zombie show's fifth and penultimate episode drew a series record 5.5 million viewers at 10 p.m., slightly beating its Halloween series premiere. It's also a 15% hike from the fourth episode.
Elsewhere in ratings news, ABC's "The View" hit a season high of 3.7 million viewers during the week ended November 19, while new CBS rival "The Talk" had its best performance since its premiere week in mid-October. "The Talk" averaged 2.1 million viewers, rising slightly from the prior week. So far, "The Talk" may not be blowing up the ratings, but it's proving to be a very steady performer.
