FOX has already started teasing its new series "The Chicago Code," and now the network has set a premiere date for the show.
"The Chicago Code," formerly titled "Ride-Along," will debut at 9 p.m. ET Monday, Feb. 7, the day after FOX broadcasts the Super Bowl. The network said back at its upfront in May that it wanted to use the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl to help launch the show, so expect to see lots and lots of promos for "The Chicago Code" during NFL games in the next three months.
The show comes from "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan and is shooting on location in Chicago. It stars Jennifer Beals ("Lie to Me," "The L Word") as Teresa Colvin, the city's first female police superintendent, and Jason Clarke ("Brotherhood") as Jarek Wysocki, her ex-partner and a veteran cop whom Teresa gives considerable clout to help clean up the city.
The cast also includes Delroy Lindo ("Kidnapped," "Lackawanna Blues") as a powerful alderman, Matt Lauria ("Friday Night Lights") as Wysocki's new partner, Todd Williams ("In Plain Sight") and Devin Kelley as fellow cops and Billy Lush ("The Black Donnellys") as, per FOX's description, "an Irish thug who blends in with the gritty world of local crime."
Tim Minear ("Firefly," "Dollhouse") is executive producing with Ryan. The two have worked together on "Angel" and Ryan's current FX series "Terriers."
