The wedding of Channel 11's Jodi Applegate and Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay at the Plaza Hotel will be vintage New York -- with a side of Buffalo wings. "Jodi envisioned it to be the old black-and-white balls they used to have at the Plaza," Kay told us. "She pushed for the black-tie. I said, 'Men usually hate wearing tuxes. It feels like a monkey suit,' but she wanted it." Kay conceded on the attire but won on the cocktail hour, which will feature game-watching food. "I'm a terrible eater . . . there will be sliders, Ray's Pizza, pigs in blankets, little tiny heroes, wings, chicken fingers, stuff like that," he said. "That's what everyone is going to eat, not the fancy stuff." Yankee and TV royalty will glitter among the 300 guests at the Feb. 12 wedding, including Mariano Rivera, Joe Girardi, Brian Williams, Darryl Strawberry, Paul O'Neill, Al Leiter, John Flaherty and Ken Singleton. "My goal is to make it the greatest party that anyone has ever been to," Applegate said.
