It took a village to get a stunned Betty White to the SAG Awards stage after she was named the best actress in a comedy series.
Who would've known a year ago when White received the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award that she was just getting started (again). She nabbed her first acting nomination for a comedy series this year and it's now hers for her role in TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland."
She looked stunned to have won and did a couple circles in the audience before someone took her hand and led her to the stage. She must have loved that dashing "Mad Men" star and the award's presenter, Jon Hamm, was there to give her a hand up the stairs.
"I can not believe this," White started her acceptance speech. "And they had to get the old broad up those stairs. That's not easy. I must say that this is the biggest surprise I've ever had in this business. There wasn't a prayer. I'm so lucky at 89. I'm working on the happiest set in TV."
She went on to give props to her cast mates. They were all also nominated for best ensemble cast in a comedy series, but lost to "Modern Family."
Congrats Betty!
