For quite some time, numerous reports have claimed that Susan Sarandon's boyfriend is her young business partner Jonathan Bricklin.
If the two are more than just dear friends (Sarandon is in an investor in Bricklin's Spin Ping-Pong clubs), they're hiding it well. Sarandon just told me...
She is single.
I caught up with her at the Bing Bar at the Sundance Film Festival. When I asked who was the better Ping-Ponger, her or her "boyfriend," she said without any hesitation, "I don't have a boyfriend."
In other words, it's all about table tennis for the 64-year-old Oscar winner and the thirtysomething-year-old Bricklin, even though they have been spotted traveling together in Europe.
"I'm a propagandist," Sarandon said of her role with Spin. "I'm not necessarily a [Ping-Pong] player, but I really believe in it…It's just so democratic. It doesn't matter if you're a boy or a girl, or skinny or fat. You just never can tell who is going to be great at it."
Bricklin was also on hand at Bing Bar for a Ping-Pong demonstration. For the record, I didn't see any canoodling of any kind between Sarandon and Bricklin. Sarandon and Tim Robbins split up in 2009 after 23 years together.
