Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 7, 2011
FOX scored a ratings touchdown on Friday thanks to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, which brought in around 9 million viewers and demographic win for the network. In case you were wondering: LSU beat Texas A&M in the big game. With new episode of "Medium" and "CSI: NY" and a rerun of "The Mentalist," CBS came in a strong second. ABC came in third as a healthy 5.1 million viewers tuned into ABC for "Primetime: What Would You Do?"
FOX and CBS pretty much dominated the night. FOX took the lead with 9.3 million viewers and a 5.4 rating/9 share among households. CBS was a solid second (7.9 million, 5.1/9), while ABC took third (5.3 million, 3.5/6). Coming in fourth was NBC (5 million, 3.3/6), while The CW finished last with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.9/2.
The Cotton Bowl also helped FOX take lead the night in the demographic; it averaged 2.8 for the evening. ABC (1.6) narrowly beat out CBS (1.5). Coming in fourth was NBC at 1.3. As per usual, The CW came in last, delivering a 0.5.
