For new Housewives Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey, season 3 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (their first on the show) has been a chance to share with the world big life events like Bailey's engagement to fiancé Peter and all the pomp (elaborate baby shower, followed by Sunday night's sip and see) of the arrival of Parks's baby boy with husband Apollo.
But for the show's remaining original stars, Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes and Sheree Whitfield, the season has been one big career day.
Following the success of her dance hit, "Tardy for the Party," Zolciak has decided she wants to be more than a one-hit wonder, working with costar Kandi Burruss to record a second single, "The Ring Didn't Mean a Thing," performing for huge crowds (like she did at the White Party) and going on a bus tour with Burruss.
In an effort to be a more independent woman, Leakes, whose marriage to Gregg is on the rocks, applied for a job as an entertainment correspondent for 11 Alive, a local news outlet in Atlanta, and got the gig. But her first big celebrity interview, with hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri, proved to be an awkward start.
After launching a clothing line, She By Sheree, Whitfield is trying to launch her career as an actress. She's worked with an acting coach, signed on with a manager and agents, and even appeared – briefly and for free – in a play at an Atlanta theatre.
