Her work is exceptional. Her ride is not.
Hours after winning a Screen Actors Guild award for best actress in a TV movie in Los Angeles on Sunday, Claire Danes was commuting back to work in New York – in decidedly unglamorous fashion.
"I'm flying tonight on coach," Danes, 31, told Extra backstage at the SAG show. "I know, I know, I feel like I'm bragging now at this point. It's the only seat available, and I have to go back to work tomorrow morning."
There's no rest for the weary. "I get to shower in the hotel, and then I go to set – and act some more," the actress said. "We'll see how tomorrow's scene will be."
Danes, who won for her role as an autistic woman in the HBO film Temple Grandin – adding the SAG award to her Golden Globe and Emmy – was due in New York to film her upcoming Showtime series, Homeland.
But no matter how hectic her schedule gets, she knows she can count on one big fan in particular – husband Hugh Dancy. "He is insanely supportive," Danes says. "We were kind of joking. I just wanted him to come up with me to the podium with a stopwatch, because the time thing, it's very stressful."
