LeBron James loves Cleveland! Sorry, Cavaliers fans, not your Cleveland. The basketball superstar and six fellow NBA All-Stars make a fast break to Cleveland Brown's hometown of Stoolbend, Virginia, on Fox's The Cleveland Show on February 13. "Cleveland and Donna go to L.A. to see the NBA All-Star Game," says executive producer Mike Henry (who voices Cleveland). "Cleveland gets appropriately drunk and starts heckling the players, and they get their feelings hurt. They all come together and vow to go to Virginia and track Cleveland down and set him straight."
Henry had little trouble recruiting his animated dream team — pictured from left with Cleveland: Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, Shaquille O'Neal of the Celtics, and the Miami Heat's James and Dwyane Wade. (Only Kobe Bryant declined the invitation. We're sure that had nothing to do with the stinging jab at him in the season premiere.)
"All of these guys were funny. Shaq actually improvised. LeBron had to break down and cry for his role," Henry says. "It was a quite a treat to get these guys who were funny, because so often [with celebrity cameos] your fear is that you're going to have work them over to get anything halfway usable. Every single one of these guys did good reads."
