Like the famous story of Sir Walter Raleigh laying his cloak over a puddle to prevent Queen Elizabeth from getting her feet wet, "Saturday Night Live" producer Lorne Michaels and other celebs needed help getting over a puddle of melted snow Saturday night. A spy at the Gansevoort Hotel reports, "Staff carried out a large piece of wood and placed it over the puddle. Lorne then got out of the car and walked over the plank on his way to the 'SNL' after-party at Asellina." Another source said, "It wasn't just for Lorne. There was a 2-foot-wide puddle, and hotel staff used the wood to cover it. All the cast and guests at the party used it. It just happened that Lorne was one of the first people seen walking on it."
