Two freshman series are getting a sophomore push from Showtime.
On Monday (Feb. 28), the network announced that both "Shameless" and "Episodes" will be getting a second season.
"The viewer loyalty and critical acclaim that has met both 'Shameless' and 'Episodes' since their January debuts makes it clear that these two brash and sophisticated series are burgeoning hits," says Showtime's Entertainment President, David Nevins.
"Shameless" starring William H. Macy as the hard-partying dad and Emmy Rossum as the stand-in matriarch of the family averages four million viewers weekly and stands as the network's second highest rated drama series after "Dexter," according to Showtime. It has been picked up for a 12-episode second season.
"Episodes," the dry sitcom starring Matt LeBlanc as himself, but way funnier, follows his meta self starring in the American remake of a British comedy hit that Hollywood is trying its damnedest to ruin, averaged two million viewers (including On Demand and replays) according to the network. Its second season episode order is still to be determined.
How shamelessly happy are you about getting more episodes from the two freshman series? See how we did that?
