"The Biggest Loser" is moving and trimming down a bit to accommodate NBC's entry into the reality singing competition battle against "American Idol" and "The X Factor" with "The Voice" premiering on April 26.
According to thefutoncritic.com, the network is carving out some of the weight loss show's time by moving it to 9 p.m. ET for its last three episodes to make way for the network's new singing competition.
Also, a couple episodes of "The Biggest Loser" will be trimmed to an hour on April 26 and May 3. We personally think the show doesn't have to be two hours in the first place, but that's just us.
Here's a cheat sheet on the proposed changes:
Tuesdays (April 26-May 3)8:00/7:00c - "The Biggest Loser" (One-Hour Episodes)9:00/8:00c - "The Voice" (Two-Hour Episodes)Tuesdays (May 10-May 24)8:00/7:00c - "The Voice" (New Time Slot)9:00/8:00c - "The Biggest Loser" (New Time Slot)Tuesdays (May 31-June 28)8:00/7:00c - "The Voice"9:00/8:00c - (To Be Announced)
NBC was clear that their remake of the hit show from Holland, which beat "American Idol" and "X-Factor" in that country, represents their best effort to steal some of that reality singing competition audience. Earlier this week, the network announced that the show's host Carson Daly will be joined by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and singer Cee Lo Green as coaches.
Will "The Voice" be worthy of all this hype? It remains to be seen. What do you think?
