U.S. TV titan Oprah Winfrey will take her show to the centre of the Egyptian pro-democracy protests in the capital Cairo, according to a new report.
Thousands of Egyptians flooded the city's Tahrir Square last month to call for the resignation of now-ousted president Hosni Mubarak after 30 years of dictatorship.
Winfrey has now accepted an invitation to set up a studio on the site later this month for a live show in a bid to attract holidaymakers back to the country, according to Egypt's new tourism minister Munir Fakhri Abdelnur.
He tells local media, "The plan is for her to broadcast a live show from Tahrir Square on a Friday in March, but the date has not been finalized. The most famous TV hostess in the world accepted without hesitation."
Winfrey took 300 guests to Australia in December for a series of episodes in a trip funded by the Aussie tourism board.
