CBS has ordered a Deal or No Deal-esque game show pilot called Secret Fortune from American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe, Deadline.com reports.
The game presents contestants with 24 envelopes, each containing a check for amounts ranging from a dollar to an outrageous fortune. Over the course of the game, 23 envelopes are destroyed, leaving the contestant with a possibly life-changing sum.
The show, which is based on a Wild Rover Productions format, will be executive-produced by Lythgoe and Wild Rover's Phil Morrow.
Lythgoe is keeping busy. After his buzzed-about return to American Idol this season, Lythgoe is also prepping the new season of So You Think You Can Dance, on which he also serves as head judge. He is also producing CMT's Next Superstar, which debuts later this month.
