Actress Tatum O'Neal ended her long-running family feud with once-estranged father Ryan because she feared for his health.
The duo experienced a falling out nearly 25-years ago, but came together last year to start work on a reality TV series, in which they analyse their relationship.
Ryan has been determined to make amends with the 47-year old ever since his girlfriend Farrah Fawcett passed away in 2009 - but the feelings weren't exactly mutual.
However, Tatum recently had a change of heart, admitting she only thought to re-establish ties with the movie veteran after realizing her dad might not be around forever.
In the show, Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals, she reveals, "He is getting older, has battled leukemia. And how would I feel if my father were to get sick or die? Would I be OK? And I realised I wouldn't be OK. So I knew I needed to make an effort."
The eight-episode series will debut on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network in the U.S. on Father's Day
