Nonetheless, a real look at Saskatchewan life is on display in the six-part reality-documentary series Dust Up, which debuts with back-to-back episodes Thursday, June 2 on History Television.
Dust Up is a look at the surprisingly dangerous world of crop-dusting with a focus on three maverick crop-dusters in Nipawin, Sask. According to Dust Up, Nipawin is a place where there are two speeds: Slow and 200 kilometres an hour.
Dust Up follows 73-year-old Bud Jardine, his rebellious son Brennan Jardine and ambitious newcomer Travis Karle, all of whom have their own crop-dusting operations.
They are competitive daredevils, buzzing inches above fields while dodging trees and telephone wires.
It's like Survivor: Saskatchewan, complete with in-fighting and back-stabbing.
