The first annual Critics' Choice TV Awards took place in Los Angeles, Monday June 20 -- and in addition to a few not-so-surprising winners ("Mad Men" earned best drama and multiple acting nods), there were a few unexpected developments in the supporting categories.
"Fringe" star John Noble was honored with best supporting actor in a drama series, and "Cougar Town" scene-stealer Busy Phillips walked away with best supporting actress in a comedy series.
Familiar Emmy and Golden Globe winners Julianna Margulies, Jim Parsons and Tina Fey also won prizes. And "Modern Family" beat out nine other series for best comedy.
