Is there a catfight brewing between Meghan McCain and Bristol Palin? Not exactly.
McCain fired back at Palin with nothing but love after Palin wrote in her new memoir, Not Afraid of Life, that McCain was "constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining" when their clans were on the presidential campaign trail in 2008.
"My response to Bristol Palin:" McCain tweeted, linking to a video of her and Palin's younger sister, Piper, sitting cozily on a couch. In the clip, McCain gushes about Sarah Palin and says she "couldn't be more excited" that her father, Sen. John McCain, chose the former Alaska governor as his running mate.
"I am so excited the Republican party has a female vice presidential running mate and she is everything I could possibly hope for in my father's running mate," she says.
While McCain is taking the high road in this instance, she hasn't always done so. In September, she told Jon Stewart that while Palin was pregnant on the campaign, she was forced to see an image consultant, which "does a little bit to your self esteem."
