WINNIPEG – A porn starlet is riding the media tsunami on Charlie Sheen's mercury surfboard straight to a strip club near you.
Capri Anderson, the 23-year-old American porn actress and escort who was with the troubled actor in a posh New York City hotel last October during one of his violent substance-induced meltdowns, is set for two shows as a feature exotic dancer on Winnipeg stages this week.
The porn star is on a tour of North American clubs to capitalize on her frightening run-in with the former Two and a Half Men star. At the time, it was reported that Sheen accused Anderson of stealing his watch and then verbally insulted her before throwing furniture around the room.
Anderson will perform Wednesday at Lipstixx and Thursday at Solid Gold. She will also take part in meet-and-greets at both shows and will sign autographs.
While advertisements for Anderson's exotic dancing stint feature a superimposed picture of Sheen with a shot of her in lingerie, she prefers not to go into great depth about the incident that made her tabloid fodder.
"It's never going to feel anything but awkward," Anderson said of her encounter with Sheen. "I try not to focus on it too much, but obviously I get a lot of comments. I get some people asking jokingly where the watch is and things like that."

Anderson had filed a police complaint for harassment and a civil suit against Sheen, but she wouldn't comment Monday on whether she's still pursuing the matter. Sheen had launched a countersuit, claiming Anderson was attempting to extort him.
"It's given me a lot of attention, for sure," she said. "A lot of my new-found notoriety is based on this horrible situation and that kind of sucks. But it feels good to throw myself back into work."
Anderson is based in Los Angeles, where she works for porn company Vivid Entertainment. Most recently she was featured in the porn video My Little Black Book and has finished shooting for an X-rated parody of Spider-Man.
She said she only learned it would be Sheen she was meeting just before she went to the planned dinner rendezvous last fall.
"At the time, I had never gone on a date with a famous person, so in my mind it was kind of an honour and I was pretty excited," she said. "But it ended up turning out to be not such a great night."
Anderson's tour stops in Winnipeg will mark her first time north of the 49th parallel.
"I'm so excited because I've always wanted to come to Canada," she said.
