We love "The Voice's" format -- particularly because on Tuesday night, we got to see who got sent home at the beginning of the show, instead of waiting through a handful of excruciating commercial breaks for the host to rip the band-aid off, like we do with some other shows.
In the semi-finals, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green both had to cut their four-act teams in half. America voted to save one member from each team, and after that, it was up to the judges to choose one more person to stay -- and to let two people (or in some cases, three) go home empty-handed.
Cee-Lo was up first. America voted to save Vicci Martinez, and after some serious deliberation, Cee-Lo saved Nakia -- noting that he thought that the other team members would agree with his decision for the best of the group. That means that Curtis Grimes (the "Vote for the Worst" favorite) and California sisters Tori and Taylor were sent packing.
Adam's decision was a tough one as well. America, unsurprisingly, saved fan favorite Javier Colon, the crooner from Connecticut. Then Adam made a surprising choice -- he even shocked himself. "I came here thinking I was going to pick you, Jeff, and something happened, and I've got to go with Casey Weston," he said. Along with Jeff Jenkins, 19-year-old Devon Barley went home.
"Our friendship does not end here," Adam promised them. "I really, genuinely mean that. I love you guys so much."
Do you think Cee-Lo and Adam made the right calls?
