Getting shot in the chest, complicated pregnancy for a spouse, tension with co-workers. Good lord, there's no such thing as a quiet afternoon for Flashpoint's Ed Lane.
Then again, quiet afternoons don't make for exciting TV shows, which leads us to the fourth-season premiere of the Canadian cop drama Flashpoint. It airs Friday on CTV and CBS.
The new episode, titled Personal Effects, picks up right where the third season left off: With Ed Lane (played by Hugh Dillon) having just been shot in the street by a clearly overwhelmed driver played by guest-star Christopher Bolton. Sheesh, Bolton wasn't wound quite so tight when he was the Rent-a-Goalie dude.
Anyway, the reason Ed was hurrying to the hospital in the first place was so he wouldn't miss the birth of his child. Now, as Ed gets rushed to the hospital for his own dire reasons, Team One quickly reassembles to try to corner the kook who gunned down their buddy.
