A man who was arrested outside Paris Hilton's home on Monday has pleaded not guilty to a charge of violating a restraining order.
James Rainford, 36, who is banned from going within 200 yards of the star, was detained by cops on Independence Day after he was allegedly spotted on the beach outside the socialite's house in Malibu, California.
Rainford was held on $20,000 bail and appeared in court in Van Nuys, California on Wednesday to plead not guilty to a charge of violating a protective order.
He was remanded in custody and will be back in court on July 15.
Rainford was previously arrested outside Hilton's home in Los Angeles last year and subsequently pleaded no contest to a trespass charge, which landed him three years probation. He was subsequently jailed for attacking Hilton's then-boyfriend Cy Waits outside a courthouse in April, but was reportedly released after serving 24 days of his 227 day sentence.
