In a zombies vs. vampires fight (and yes, there's a panel on that), zombies may just be the better bet. Look out Twi-hards, a TV show is quietly supplanting your Edward/Bella bloodsucking saga as the biggest draw at Comic-Con.
For the first time ever, the annual fan festival has made an online scheduling tool available to attendees. It truly is helpful -- making it possible to easily scan each hour's panels to plot out priorities. But -- bonus! -- the tool also tracks which panels are drawing the most pre-Comic-Con interest.
And the data is, well, shocking. Based on users inputting their skeds into the tool, "The Walking Dead" -- AMC's show about survivors following a zombie-pocalypse -- is leading the pack as the most sought-after panel so far. For those of you anxious to add it to your own calendars, the panel is scheduled for Friday July 22 at 11:15 in Ballroom 20 (though based on popularity, maybe it should move to the bigger Hall H?).
Pretty much everyone involved with the show is expected at the panel: Stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Norman Reedus, Steven Yuen, Jeffrey DeMunn, show runner Frank Darabont, producer Gale Anne Hurd and author Robert Kirkman.
Coming in second is CBS' "Big Bang Theory," followed by HBO's "Game of Thrones" panel. Rounding out the top 5 -- Sony's all-purpose panel (which will showcase "Ghostrider: Spirit of Vengeance," "30 Minutes or Less," "Total Recall" and "The Amazing Spider-Man") and HBO's "True Blood."
Oh, "Twilight's" latest installment, "Breaking Dawn Part 1" is on the list -- but ranked at an anemic 36 out of 50 ranked panels.
We'll see if things change as we draw closesr to Comic-Con, July 20 - 24.
