So who won "Love in the Wild"? And how did they get there?
Post-Couples Choice Ceremony
The two couples left are super likable and hang out with each other in a nice way. Leaves me not much to snark on, booooo! They toast to being in the finals. Oh, c'mon. Fight! Fight! Fight!
The Adventure, Day One
The final adventure will last two days. They start by canoeing up a river to their backpacks, which include overnight gear, food and dry clothes. There they get another map with tasks and the Day One finish line. They will leave the next day "Amazing Race"-style - in the order they finished, with the same time difference. On Day Two, they will climb to a lake at the top of a volcano, which is crazy-awesome.
At the start, Mike and Sam get to the canoes easily, but Miles is not much of a swimmer and they start lagging. Miles hilariously talking-heads that he's going to be "the first person to die on national television. In a lifejacket. On a lake." Aww.
But once it's paddling time ("it's paddlin' time!) Miles/Heather catch right up, so it's neck-and-neck at the backpacks. The next task is assembling and riding in an ox cart. Huh. This is very "Amazing Race."
Heather is surprised they have to actually ride in the "janky cart [they] put together." I love her - I say "janky" too!
Heather/Miles catch up to Sam/Mike because they have faster oxen, then it's a foot race once they've dropped off the oxen. So everybody's running, the men are carrying the backpacks and Heather/Miles catch Mike/Sam because they're in better shape, but then Mike and Sam take over again and come in first. Not that it really matters - the time difference is only 26 seconds.
The overnight includes a tent to put up, a kerosene stove and some MRE-like meals. Heh. I will have you know, I can put up a tent and cook those meals. Heather is my girl! Mike and Sam are struggling, with the tent and the kerosene stove. So Mike starts a fire on his own - but can they cook over it? Eventually, but they have a little tiff in the interim. They're OK later though, probably just grumpy from being hungry.
I feel like Miles/Heather enjoy each other more, but Mike/Sam are more like a real couple, ya know? I'm not concerned about who wins, though, they both seem good.
Day Two
It's raining, foggy, muddy, slippery and the day is like all climbing up the volcano. Yikes. The next task is to paddle out in the lagoon and the fog is super thick. They have inner tubes to ride out to the next map.
After that, they just go back down the volcano and race to the finish line. Mike and Samantha win. It looked like Miles/Heather were right behind them, huh. In their last interview, Sam gets choked up and they talk about how happy they are. That's nice!
Heather/Miles finish and they're upset, they really wanted to win. But they're happy with each other. Give them a trip too!
Later that night, Sam and Mike get to have a nice dinner at the Oasis while Heather and Miles pack up at the cabins. Aww. They should get to go to the Oasis too!
At the end, we get a little update, which is nice. I wasn't expecting that. It's like at the end of a based-on-a-true-story movie.
Heather/Miles: Still dating, love to cook together and can't wait to meet each other's parents
Sam/Mike: Getting ready for their trip, have already met each other's parents.
What about Skip/Theresa? I'm curious.
