CBS has snagged two projects from NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer Shane Brennan, including an adaptation of the King and Maxwell novel series, Deadline reports.
Based on the books by David Baldacci, the tentatively titled King & Maxwell follows two former Secret Service agents-turned-private investigators. Brennan will write the pilot.
"David has created a fascinating world with those two characters who are involved in the shadowy side of the power and politics from inside the Beltway to Wall Street," Brennan said. "We'll take the characters further than David would do, but we will be very true to the mythology of the characters he created."
His second project, Cure, is a medical drama from writer Jonathan Hawley about a traveling team of doctors who take on unusual medical cases around the country in hopes of finding a cure for a reclusive billionaire's terminally ill child. "I don't think I have ever seen a series so clearly at such an early stage," Brennan said.
