The newest installment of "The Bachelor" is starting on ABC Monday night. Host Chris Harrison previews for Zap2it the polarizing bachelorette, the fan favorite and what it was like bringing back Brad Womack's jiltees Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas.
Harrison previously told us that while the season doesn't have Rozlyn or Rated-R type drama, there is one contestant that riles things up a bit. But bachelor Womack had no idea, as he said the season was relatively drama-free.
"I think what you're going to find is if you go back and interview Brad four to five weeks after the show starts, I don't know if he'll give you the same answer," laughs Harrison. "I think there was a lot of drama and cattiness he had no idea about. You take Michelle Money and all Brad got to see was this stunningly beautiful single mom, but the other women had a different perspective that I don't think Brad knew about."
Michelle is most likely going to be the polarizing figure of the season, but what about a fan favorite? Harrison doesn't even hesitate -- Emily.
"One that jumps out is Emily. If you take away her story [of her fiancee's death], she's this cute beautiful little Southern belle, but when you add her story and how tragic it was and what she's overcome as a woman and a mother, what she has survived ... it's amazing," says Harrison. "Emily's story sticks out above anything I've seen in the nine years we've done the show."
In addition to compelling contestants, one of the other compelling storylines is whether Brad Womack can redeem himself in the eyes of the fans. Part of that involves bringing back the ladies he famously did not choose the first time around, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, which could have had some fireworks. But Harrison assures us the reunion went well.
"I was happy to see them. It was closure to that last chapter. I'm friends with Brad, so I'm a little bias, but I was happy to see that he was the one who quickly admitted that he was basically an a**," Harrison laughs. "He realizes he was a jerk. It wasn't like anybody felt like this was a missed opportunity, because DeAnna's about to get married and Jenni already is, but it was good to see himself call himself out."
