Courteney Cox has had a difficult few months, but the Cougar Town star has turned to work to help get her the rough patch in her personal life.
"Thank God for the show," the actress, who is going through a separation from husband David Arquette, said at this week's Television Critics Association gathering. "There have been times when Bill [Lawrence, the director] has said, 'Are you all right? Do we need to take a break?' I'm like, 'Are you kidding? This is my saving grace.' "
Cox, 46, who recently threw her support behind Arquette after he checked into rehab, acknowledges her life has been "crazy."
Asked if she ever gets used to the public's curiosity about her, she said, "I'm kind of used to it, but as I get older I'm getting probably a little more sensitive. So it might be harder in some ways."
"Obviously, my life is kind of crazy right now and I'm getting a lot of that," she added. "So it's probably a little harder for me to be used to it."
With her love of the often-racy sitcom, Cox says she does allow her 6-year-old daughter, Coco, to watch it – with some restrictions.
"I tell her to close her eyes when it's inappropriate, and she does," Cox says. "But she knows everyone [on the show]. She really thinks that Dan Byrd is her brother and calls him Brownie. This is her family."
