Former NBC communications vice president Kevin Goldman's friendship with CBS anchor Katie Couric may have cost him his job. The NBC publicist abruptly left the network on Friday after six years when execs allegedly found e-mails from Goldman to Couric at CBS. An NBC insider told us he was sending Couric e-mails about "stuff that was happening in the building." Goldman bragged about his friendship with former NBC "Today" show star Couric, sources say, adding, "He was great at his job and started looking elsewhere weeks ago. He expected cuts with the Comcast merger." Couric's rep said, "Katie has known Kevin for a long time but doesn't know anything about his departure from NBC." Goldman told us, "I enjoy speculation as much as the next guy. NBC and I have had discussions over the last number of weeks about my leaving the network, and I left on Friday. I had six great years at NBC." Couric has announced she will be leaving the anchor's chair at "CBS Evening News" in June.
