CBS "Early Show" executive producer David Friedman gathered his staff on Wednesday afternoon for an emotional pep talk and to address reports that he's leaving the morning show and that the network is wooing other anchors. "There's a lot of rumors going on in the newspapers, but they (network brass) don't tell me anything," he told his staff. "I'm proud of you all. You've done a great job, and please hang in there." The spy added, "He went into his office and got really upset." CBS sources say a big announcement is expected today. An "Early Show" spokesperson denied Friedman's emotional reaction at the meeting, saying, "That is absolutely not true."
