Despite predictions the Church of Scientology would be out to get him, Paul Haggis hasn't gone into hiding. In fact, the screenwriter, who denounced his former religion in an explosive New Yorker piece this year, has hit the festival circuit hard. The Nantucket Film Festival is planning a tribute to Haggis during its 16th installment, June 22 to 26. And the "Crash" wordsmith came out during the Tribeca Film Festival for screenings of "Sun City Picture House" and "The Bang Bang Club." "My bet is that, within two years, you're going to read something about me in a scandal that has nothing to do with the church," Haggis said in The New Yorker. We hope he'll be safe in Nantucket.
