The my-mom's-a-spy plot thickens on "Chuck" Monday night (Nov. 1) with the introduction of the show's latest spot-on guest star: former James Bond portrayer Timothy Dalton.
Dalton makes his first appearance in a recurring role as someone connected to Mary Bartowski's (Linda Hamilton) past, and someone who can clear up some of the mystery about Mary's allegiances. (Spoiler-ish material is below, so take heed.)
"[He] is my handler, as they say in the MI-6," Hamilton told Zap2it when we visited a "Chuck" location shoot in late September. He also may hold the key to Mary's past -- which, as we saw at the end of "Chuck vs. the Aisle of Terror" last week, is very much a subject of debate at the moment.
"I'm in handcuffs because they think I'm a mole, or no longer with the CIA," Hamilton says. "So they think I'm the bad girl, and I'm trying to get information to prove I'm not the bad girl. Then the Russians come."
Those Russians are led by another guest star, former "Saturday Night Live" regular Ana Gasteyer, and they're not happy with Mary either. It's a situation that leaves Chuck (Zachary Levi) once again unsure of what to feel about his mom -- not to mention Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) role in taking Mary into custody.
