Captain Kirk's chair from Star Trek is the prize possession of Christian Slater's character in the new TV series Breaking In.
For the purposes of Breaking In, which debuts Wednesday, April 6 on Fox and CTV, it's the real chair, not a replica.
"He definitely is the captain of this particular ship," Slater said of his character, named Oz, who heads up a company that breaks into security systems to expose weaknesses.
But honestly, that's not the real Captain Kirk chair they're using on Breaking In, right?
"Well, as a way to do some research for this particular show, me and the gang all broke into the Smithsonian and stole the real one," Slater said.
"So the one they have at the Smithsonian is a replica now. We did a little replacement surgery there."
