{alltv} 'Teen Wolf' cast: 'We want Michael J. Fox to guest star!'

Prepare to meet your new guilty pleasure.

MTV's highly anticipated "Teen Wolf" reboot premieres Sunday, June 5, after the MTV Movie Awards and we were lucky enough to snag some time with most of the show's main cast -- Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Dylan O'Brien (hm... or is it Colton Haynes?) -- to chat about their characters, comparisons to "The Vampire Diaries" and a flashy extra from the original '80s flick.

"He's this crazy outcast kid and he's tired of being an outcast," Posey says while describing his character, Scott McCall. "I call him the cool kid that was never accepted in the cool crowd. He gets bitten by a werewolf and his whole life changes."

Hoechlin plays Derek, the werewolf responsible for turning Scott. "You don't know too much about him and it kind of stays that way for a little while," he says. "I have to teach this guy how to be a good werewolf, you can imagine is a handful."

Viewers can expect to see a Romeo and Juliet-style romance between Scott and Allison (Reed). "She doesn't know he's a werewolf and she doesn't know her family are werewolf hunters," Reed says. "But she finds out and it doesn't make her very happy."

Another road-bump on their way to a happy relationship is Roden's character Lydia, who takes an interest in Scott after he's bitten. "She's not your quintessential mean girl. I like to think she's more bratty than the other 'B' word," Roden says of Lydia.

The whole cast has seen the original film starring Michael J. Fox -- thanks to a viewing party at creator Jeff Davis' house -- but says their show is nothing like it. "Would you compare 'Old School' with 'Goodfellas'? It's like the same thing," Hoechlin explains. "The only thing we have in common is a teenage werewolf and a couple of names."

When asked if they could have anyone from the original movie guest star on their show, the entire cast unanimously chose Michael J. Fox. (We 100% approve.)

The cast is also quick to point out that their show is different from other werewolf fare currently on TV -- namely "TVD" and "True Blood." "They like to focus on one genre. They like to focus on the drama or the scary aspect of it," Posey says. "We like to focus on all of them and then put it together to make this one really cool show."

Hoechlin adds, "We like to compare it most to 'Lost Boys.' That's kind of more the tone of the show."

Lastly, we had to ask if "Teen Wolf's" wolves could taken on "Twilight's" Jacob and his pack. Hoechlin and Posey are pretty confident they would win thanks to one (or two) small advantage. "Their werewolves turn into real wolves and we still have opposable thumbs and we'd poke out their eyes," Posey explains. "That's why we would win."
