Randy Jackson is hoping to put the dawg in daytime.
The American Idol judge, known for telling contestants they're too "pitchy," is going pitchy himself by pitching a concept for a daytime talk show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show, which Jackson would host, would not be limited to music. "He wants to talk about things that will be hip next," one source told THR. "He thinks he has his finger on the pulse."
The Grammy winner is now the longest-serving judge on Idol and also executive produces Randy Jackson Presents America's Next Best Dance Crew for MTV. Jackson's longtime Idol colleague, Ryan Seacrest, tried his hand at daytime back in 2004. His syndicated series, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, lasted just nine months.
Before coining phrases such as "dawg" and "in to win it," Jackson worked as an executive for Columbia Records and MCA Records. He has also toured and produced records for artists including Madonna, Elton John and Whitney Houston.
Would you watch a daytime show from Jackson?
