Fans of Pia Toscano, mourn no more.
The American Idol finalist, who finished ninth last season, has signed a recording contract with Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Records, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family," Toscano says in a statement. "[Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true."
Her debut single, "This Time," drops on July 12. The song is an acoustic guitar- and beat-driven track written by Esther Dean, who also wrote Rihanna's "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name."
She'll perform the song during this summer's American Idol Live! Tour, which runs from July 6-September 10, while continuing to work on her album, which will be released later this year.
