MTV's newest reality series -- or "docu-drama," as they call it -- has no fist pumping, GTL-ing, or teen moms fighting with their baby daddies. "Chelsea Settles" premieres with a special one-hour episode on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
The series follows 23-year-old Chelsea Settles as she reinvents her life. When the show begins, Settles is living in a small town in Pennsylvania. She weighs 325 pounds, her long-distance boyfriend is a bit of a flake, and her family is struggling to deal with her mother's medical problems.
Despite the hurdles, Settles decides to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of being a fashion designer.
"Chelsea's decision to move across the country is not without reservations. With a severely diabetic mom who has been in and out of hospitals for years and in need of kidney and pancreas transplants, to a boyfriend who would rather Chelsea follow him in his military pursuits instead of fulfilling her dreams of making a life for herself in L.A., she grapples with making one of the most difficult choices she's ever had to make," MTV says in the press release.
