The streak is over: "The Amazing Race" is no longer the Emmy-approved best reality-competition show on TV.
The CBS series had won the reality-competition Emmy for seven straight years -- as long as the category has existed. But on Sunday (Aug. 29), it was finally dethroned. The award went to Bravo's "Top Chef," which has been nominated for the past four years.
The seven-year streak for "The Amazing Race" was the longest ever in any series category. "Frasier" won five Emmys in a row for best comedy series in the 1990s, and "The West Wing" and "Hill Street Blues" each four consecutive best drama awards.
Other nominees in the category were "American Idol," "Dancing With the Stars" and "Project Runway."
What do you think of "Top Chef's" win? Were you surprised "TAR" finally went down?
